Thibodaux, LA – The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team earned the #6 seed in the Southland Conference Tennis Championships. The Cardinals will face No.3 Bryant on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Thibodaux on the campus of Nicholls University.  

The Cardinals finished the year an even 8-8 on the season with a 2-3 mark in SLC play. Several players have stood out throughout the season, with Emilio Vila playing 11 matches at the #1 singles spot and going 5-6 in those matches. Freshman Marcel Miralles had an excellent spring, finishing 9-4 in singles on the year and earning SLC Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March 4th.   

Bryant finished the season 11-9 on the year, earning the #3 seed in the SLC Tournament. The Bulldogs went 1-2 against Southland opponents this season, falling to NJIT and New Orleans and defeating Nicholls. Miguel Machado went 23-7 in singles, leading the Bulldogs followed by Daniel Baquero who went 16-12 in singles while the duo of Baquero and Myles Peterson went 9-3 in the #3 doubles and 13-4 overall.
