ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington scored runs in the first, second, third, and fifth inning en route to a 9-0 run-rule victory over the University of the Incarnate Word softball Wednesday afternoon from Allan Saxe Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UTA (10-12) wasted little time, loading the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the first. The Cardinals (3-13) got the force out at home for the first out, but a hit batter, followed by a sacrifice fly, put the Mavericks on the board, 2-0.
Following another run in the bottom of the second, UTA blew it open with a four-run bottom of the third, highlighted by a three-run home run from Reagan Wright. UTA ended the game two innings later on a two-run blast from Kjirsten Murphy.
