SAN ANTONIO – After winning the doubles' point, the University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team failed to win a single's match to drop a matchup against Georgia Southern 4-1 on Sunday at the Clarence Mabry Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Cardinals (4-10) started off the afternoon with a solid doubles win with victories at the #1 and #3 positions. Joey Vatanadilok and Francisco Bendana paired up to win their #1 match 6-2, and Ivanhoe Lissanevitch and Nedim Ahmic beat their opponents 6-3 at #3. Sebastian Mortier and Caleb Dyer were down 5-4 before stopping play.  

UP NEXT

The Cardinal will begin Southland Conference play with a home match against New Orleans on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Then they'll host Navy on Thursday at 1 p.m. and Marquette on Friday at 1 p.m.

Following the four-game home stand, UIW will go on the road for a conference match against Lamar on March 24 at 3 p.m.
