SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team fell 4-0 to Trinity on Saturday at the Clarence Mabry Tennis Center.
The Cardinals (3-6) were coming off a 4-0 win against DII's #23 nationally ranked St. Mary's, but the Tigers took care of business. They started off with two wins in the #1 and #2 doubles, not even allowing enough time to finish the #3 match.
Then in singles, the Tigers took the wins in the #1, #4, and #2 for the match victory. Ivanohe Lissanevitch lost the first set at #3, but came back to win set two 6-3 and was leading 4-2 when the match ended.
Caleb Dyer and
Nedim Ahmic were also leading in the third set when Trinity clinched.
The Cardinals will stay at home for three more home matches next weekend. They play UTRGV on Saturday at 2 p.m. and then Seminole State at 9 a.m. and Laredo CC at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
