ARLINGTON, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team traveled to Arlington, Texas for a matchup against the Mavericks and were handed a 4-0 sweep at the UTA Tennis Center Friday.

The Cardinals (2-4) started the day with two losses in the #2 and #3 spots in doubles, giving the Mavericks the doubles point, and ending the #1 spot doubles match early. In that match, Sebastian Mortier and Caleb Dyer were trailing 3-5.

In the singles matches, the first three went to the Mavericks—ending the remaining matches— for a 4-0 sweep. UIW only took one set all afternoon, and it came in the #1 spot, where Mortier beat Guanarteme Nuez 7-5, and then was trailing 0-3 in the second set before ending the match early due to the sweep.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow when they face New Mexico State in the UTA Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
