Men's Tennis Loses at Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team suffered a loss on the road against Southland Conference rival Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday. The Islanders flooded the Cardinals, 6-1.

Incarnate Word (7-13, 0-4) dropped the doubles point even though Sebastian Mortier (Hanau, Germany/Karl-Rehbein-Schule) and Joey Vatanadilok (San Antonio/Bridgeway Academy) won the #2 doubles match, 6-3.  Josip Smoljan earned another win and the only point for UIW in the first singles position against Kevin Bettendroffer in three sets.

The Cardinals will be playing their last match of the season at home on Sunday against Lamar University in a "Cardinals vs. Cardinals" battle. The doubles matches will begin at 2:30 p.m.
