University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Samantha Martinez joined the University of the Incarnate Word Athletic Department in January of 2024 as Compliance Coordinator. She was previously the Athletic Administrative Coordinator in 2023. 

Martinez graduated from Midway High School in Waco, Texas (’19) before moving to Georgetown to attend Southwestern University (SU). While at SU, she was a member of the softball team and was involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) serving as a softball representative. She also served as an officer of public relations for Exercise is Medicine, a delegate for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) at the 2023 NCAA Convention, and was a National Collegiate Hispanic Honors Society member. Martinez graduated with distinction from SU in May of 2023 with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Spanish all while earning NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, SCAC Academic Honor Roll, Deans List honors, and SCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention. 

She is now on the path to earning her Master of Sport Management degree at UIW's Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions.
