University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Michael Guerra joined the University of the Incarnate Word Athletic Department in June 2023 as the Facilities and Game Operations Graduate Assistant. In October of the same year, he was promoted to Facilities and Game Operations Coordinator. 

In this role, he oversees five athletic facilities, working on repairs and restorations. He also runs game day operations for eight sports: Volleyball, Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Tennis, Baseball, Men's Basketball, Golf, Fencing, and Swimming.

Prior to joining the University of the Incarnate Word, he served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Offensive Line Coach for Schurr High School. During his time at Schurr High School, he accomplished a Varsity Almont league Championship in 2021 and led the Underclassmen to a 9-1 season in 2022. 

Michael, a Montebello, California native, earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of La Verne. He is currently working on his master’s degree at UIW.
