2012-13 (Junior):  Murata was an Honorable Mention CSCAA Scholar All-American and First Team RMAC All-Academic Team member.  She earned RMAC Third Team honors in the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 backstroke.  She just missed out on the medal stand in the 100 butterfly at the RMAC Championships with a fourth place finish.  She swam a UIW all-time top 10 time in the 200 individual medley at the UIW Christmas Invite.

2011-12 (Sophomore):  Murata was a CSCAA Scholar All-American and Second Team RMAC All-Academic Team member.  She swam three different individual events at the national meet.  She took third place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.04.  She set season best marks at the RMAC Championships in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes.  She etched her name in the UIW top 10 in three different individual events.

2010-11 (Freshman):  Murata was on the winning 400-yard medley relay team at the RMAC Championships.  She took second place in the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard backstroke at the UIW Invitational.

High School:  Murata was a nine-time TAPPS All-State swimmer and won 13 TISCA All-State awards.  She was a two-time TAPPS Academic All-State selection.  She was a San Antonio Express-News All-Area choice all four years.

Personal:  Murata is the daughter of Rick and Woody Murata and is studying biology with a minor in nutrition.  She has five siblings; Melissa, Jonathan, Daniel, Michael and Andrew.  She was born on October 7, 1991.
