Biography
2013 (Freshman): Rivera competed in six meets for the Cardinals in her freshman year and posted a season best time of 23:24.98 for a 6K run at the UIW Cardinal Invitational and took eighth place. She finished in 12th at the TLU Invitational 3.25 M after running a time of 19:59.46.
High School: Rivera was on the Brownsville Rivera High School track and cross country teams. She was a two-time district champion in cross country and was named the All-Metro Most Valuable Player twice. She earned first team All-Metro and all-district and All-Rio Grande Valley and was second team all-region. In track she was a two-time 3200-meter district champion and was a four-time regional qualifier. She led the cross country team to three District 32-5A championships and one track district team title. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was All-State Women's Choir.
Personal: Rivera is the daughter of Ramiro and Lupita Rivera and is studying music education. She has a sister, Samantha.
