Clark Orren joined the University of the Incarnate Word strength and conditioning staff as a graduate assistant coach in the summer of 2018. He currently assists in the training of football and track & field, while overseeing all program design and administration for track and field throwers.

A native of Longview, Texas, Orren comes to UIW from the University of Colorado where he served as a football strength and conditioning intern. Prior to his time at Colorado, he served in the same capacity at Rice, assisting with football, women’s volleyball, and women’s soccer.

Orren began his coaching journey as an athletic performance intern at UT Austin where he worked with track & field, swimming, rowing, and cross country.

Orren is strength and conditioning coach certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association, a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is certified as a Level 1 coach by the United States Weightlifting Association (USAW).

Orren earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and communication studies in 2017 from the University of Texas at Austin while playing offensive line for the Longhorns.
