2012-13 (Junior): Armstrong was a busy sprint freestyle specialist for the Cardinals. He hit the national "B" standard in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle and 200 and 400 freestyle relay events, but did not make it to nationals. His time of 1:42.15 in the 200 freestyle at the UIW Christmas Invite is the 10th fastest time in school history. He swam second on the 200 freestyle relay team that was second at the UIW Christmas Invite in a time of 1:22.65.

2011-12 (Sophomore): Armstrong competed in the sprint freestyle events. He made a number of appearances on the top 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay teams. He swam the third leg of the silver medal 200 freestyle relay at the RMAC Championships.

2010-11 (Freshman): Armstrong was a consistent sprint freestyle swimmer for the Cardinals and showed improvement throughout the season. He was part of the fastest 400-yard freestyle relay team for UIW anchoring a squad that posted a time of 3:03.32 in Mansfield. He was on the #2 200-yard freestyle relay team.

High School: Armstrong was on the swimming and water polo teams at Brazoswood High School. He was a two-time all-region performer in water polo and the high point scorer on the swim team four straight years. He finished ninth in the 50-yard freestyle and 11th in the 100-yard freestyle in the State as a senior.

Personal: Armstrong is the son of Chris and Lynn Armstrong and is studying vision science. He was born on August 4, 1992.
