Chris O'Linger

O'Linger is in his fourth year as an assistant coach for the Incarnate Word swimming and diving program.  He swam collegiately at both the University of Florida and University of Tampa.  He earned a degree in social psychology from Tampa.  He is studying kinesiology at UIW.

O'Linger has played an important role in the Cardinals swimming program.  In his first year, the women finished fourth in NCAA Division II and the men finished third in NCAA Division II.  In his second season, the program made the jump to NCAA Division I and the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association.  In 2013-14, the UIW men won the conference title in their first year as a Division I program.

He has made the transition from a graduate assistant to a full-time assistant coach and has become a top notch recruiter for the program.  He has consistently helped head coach Phil Davis bring in strong recruiting classes as the program makes the transition from Division II to Division I.  In addition, he trains a number of former UIW swimmers who are pursuing professional careers.
