2013 (Senior): Hernandez ran a time of 19:58.02 and finished in fourth place in the Alamo City 6K Opener and ran 16:45.66 to finish eighth place at the TLU 3.25 M Invitational. He ran a season best time of 26:36.5 at the SLC Championship 8K meet and took 30th place.

2012 (Junior): In his junior year Hernandez had two top 10 finishes, his first at the Alamo City 6K, where he finished in eighth place and his second at the UIW Invitational, finishing the 8K race in tenth position. He was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the DII ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Personal: Hernandez is the son of Jesus and Luz Hernandez and is studying environmental science. He has two sisters, Susana and Mary. He was born on November 15, 1991 in Mexico.
