SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word track and field team took a small group of throwers to compete in the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational on Friday.
Gia Booth and
Evan Thompson had great weekends both throwing personal bests in all of their events. Booth hit a mark of 12.19m in shot put, 43.13m in the discus, and 42.8 in the hammer. Thompson hit 16.6m in the shot put and 50.88m in the hammer.
McCartney McAlexander and
Christian Gomez also had some PR's at the meet. McAlexander reaching 35.35m in the discus. Gomez threw 16.15m in the shot put and 52.32m in the hammer.
Sa'Niya Fowler didn't reach her personal bests, but still found success. She placed fourth in the shot, throwing 13.79 meters, and sixth after throwing 47.51 in the hammer.
By the end of the day the Cardinals had accumulated eight marks in the top-10 of the Southland Conference. You can find full results on the UIW Track & Field Website.
