SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team has added four members for the 2018 signing class, announced head coach Patrick Hallmark on Saturday. Jeremy Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Andrew Morgan and Michael Garza will join the Cardinals in the fall.
 
Jeremy Thompson
Je. Thompson is a 6-0 pitcher from Boerne, Texas, who played at Samuel V. Champion in his final high school season. As a senior at Champion, he tallied 64 strikeouts, a 0.94 ERA and seven wins. In 2017, he earned academic all-district.

Jordan Thompson
Jo. Thompson is a 5-8 pitcher/outfielder from Boerne, Texas, who played at Samuel V. Champion in his final high school season. As a senior at Champion, he registered a .548 batting average, a .887 slugging percentage, and a .631 on-base percentage. Jo. Thompson was also a second team all-academic selection.

Andrew Morgan
Morgan is a 6-5 pitcher out of Spring, Texas, who has spent the last two years at Blinn College. As a freshman at Blinn, Morgan racked up 59 strikeouts in 73.2 innings pitched en route to earning Region 14 all-star honors. As a sophomore in 2018, he has currently pitched in 24.2 innings and has thrown 20 strikeouts.

Michael Garza
Garza is a 6-1 pitcher/outfielder from Corpus Christi, Texas. He played four seasons at Mary Carroll High School where he recorded a 1.59 ERA and a .350 batting average. Garza was a 2017-18 preseason all-star and earned second team all-district in 2017. In 2016, he earned first team all-district and first team All-South Texas.
