FRISCO, Texas – University of the Incarnate Word freshman outfielder Ridge Rogers was named Southland Conference Hitter of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
A Flower Mound native, Rogers hit .611 in five games against No. 8 Texas A&M and Northern Illinois. He set a school record with a 5-for-5 day at the plate against the Huskies on Sunday and was also perfect at the plate against the Aggies on Wednesday.
 
Rogers racked up 11 hits, 5 runs, 2 RBIs, 2 doubles and a triple over the week, while posting an .833 slugging percentage and a .667 on base percentage. In addition to his outstanding performance at the plate, Rogers made an incredible diving catch in the outfield to help preserve UIW's series-finale victory over NIU.
