SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word Synchronized Swimming team came out on top in their annual Invitational home meet this weekend against Lindenwood University and Colorado State University.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals started strong in Friday's element and figure competition, with
Beatriz Regly taking 1
st in A elements with a score of 80.1185. In B elements, UIW also had a strong showing, with
Rebecca Barlow placing 1
st with a score of 73.1063.
Saturday's competition started off with the Cardinals taking 2
nd in Trio, swam by
Beatriz Regly,
Sarah Rodriguez, and
Madeline Walker-Byron. UIW took 1
st and 2
nd with their Duet swims, comprised of
Camille Guerre and
Beatriz Regly, and
Sarah Rodriguez and
Madeline Walker-Byron, respectively.
In Team competition, UIW took 1
st and 3
rd, with scores of 80.6667 and 78.0333 against Lindenwood University's two teams.
UP NEXT
UIW will take on Stanford University this weekend, February 16-17. The start time for this competition is to be determined. Element competition will be held Friday evening, and routines will compete Saturday at the Avery Aquatic Center.
