DENVER, Colo. – The University of the Incarnate Word's
Ryan Osborne was named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Osborne, a senior forward from Nottingham, England, assisted on a go-ahead goal in an eventual 2-2 tie with Cornell and scored the first goal in a 2-1 win over Oakland at the SMU Tournament in Dallas. His goal against Oakland came on his only shot on goal as the Cardinals improved to 2-1-1 on the young season.
UMKC goalkeeper, Filippo Errico, was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Osborne and the Cardinals conclude their season-opening five-game road swing at Bradley next Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. on ESPN 3.
