CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas- The University of the Incarnate Word men's tennis team competed in the Contender Crossfit Islander Open and the Trinity Invitational this past weekend.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

Luke Godwin won the singles competition in Flight 4 at Trinity after defeating Davor Ivkovic of St. Edwards in the final round, 5-7, 6-1, 10-5. 
 
In the doubles competition, Bonilla and Goodwin earned 5^th place after winning 8-6 against St. Edwards and having a bye in the final round.
 
At the Islander Open, UIW advanced four players to the third round or better.
 
Gabriel Evans competed to the Quarter Finals, but lost to Lamar's Sebastian Santibanez 6-4, 6-0.
 
Sebastian Mortier held on to the Quarter Finals until losing to Benny Schweizer 6-3, 2-6, 10-5.
