DALLAS, Texas – While the rest of the student body was lounging at the beach, the University of the Incarnate Word men's golf team was putting in work at the Bradley Spring Break Invitational, taking third overall with a strong performance from freshman John Hill.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Cardinals shot rounds of 311, 308 and 295, showing steady improvement over the two-day event for a total of 914 (+74). The squad finished ahead of Loyola Chicago, UT-Dallas and Canisius.
 
Host school Bradly won the tournament with a combined score of 858 (+18), followed by SIU Edwardsville, with a total of 899 (+59).
 
The individual title was won by Michael Mounce of Bradley. Mounce shot a three-round total of 213 (+3), while his teammate Ethan Brue took second, with a score of 216 (+6). Connor Dore of SIU Edwardsville shot 219 (+9) to place third.
 
LEADERS
 
Hill led the Cardinals with rounds of 74, 75 and 71 for a total of 220 (+10) to finish fourth. Just off of Hill's pace, Connor Ross landed the ninth-place spot after rounds of 79, 77 and 70 for a score of 226 (+16). John Luhnman came in 17th with a total of 231 (+21), while Remy Huston finished 21st with a score of 237 (+27). Jeff Conflitti rounded out the squad with a total of 239 (+29) to place 25th.
