BUCHANAN, Tenn. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's golf team finished fifth at the Skyhawk Classic on Tuesday, paced by a strong performance from sophomore
John Hill.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals opened the three-day event with a 303 in round one, before posting a solid 290 as a squad over the next 18 holes. Hill led the way with a team-low 69 in the second round. The Cardinals closed out the tournament with a 301, and finished with a combined score of 894 (+30).
Host school UT-Martin won the event, turning in rounds of 290, 287 and 283 for a three-round total of 860 (-4). Murray State took second, with a score of 875 (+11), followed by John A. Logan College, with a three-day total of 880 (+16).
John A. Logan College's Brian Whitson shot 210 (-6) to win the individual title. Hunter Richardson and Cameron Smith of UT Martin placed second and third with scores of 211 (-5) and 213 (-3) respectively.
