SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Zimbabwe-born Simi Socks, a junior forward for The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team, was featured in his home country's newspaper Tuesday.
 
Socks, a Coppell High School product, earned Honorable Mention All-Southland Conference honors at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season after finishing second on the team with 15.1 points per game. He averaged 4.1 rebounds per game and shot 84 percent from the free throw line, going 112-for-134 at the charity stripe.
