FRISCO, Texas – Senior point guard
Jalin Hart has been named Preseason First Team All-Southland Conference, the league announced Tuesday.
Hart, a 5-11 Houston native, was an automatic selection due to being named Second Team All-Conference at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season.
The reigning SLC Newcomer of the Year is coming off a tremendous first season with the Cardinals. Hart played in all 29 games with 25 starts. He averaged 15.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 34 points against Stephen F. Austin to contribute to the first victory over the Lumberjacks in school history. Hart shot 51 percent from the floor and led the team with 135 assists. He led the team in scoring 11 times and scored in double-figures 23 times.
