PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's tennis team opened the season with a 6-1 win over Prairie View A&M on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals (1-0) didn't waste any time and grabbed on to the lead early with the doubles matches.
Matea Zemunik and
Rachel Sadiq won their match 6-2 to spark UIW into an opening match win.
Victoria Kareh and
Sarah Savedra secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win.
In the singles matches, the Cardinals took five of six games to clinch the win. Full Results are below.
The Cardinals are back home for two matches against Trinity and St. Edwards next Saturday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Then on Sunday, they'll make the short drive to UTSA to face the Roadrunners at 1 p.m.
