Kyle Hittle has been named the Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week presented by UniversalCoin.com, the league office announced Monday.
Hittle led the Cardinals to a pair of victories and bolted the team to third place in the conference standings heading into the final week of the regular season. He started the week with a 20-point, five-assist, four-rebound showing in a 97-91 win at Houston Baptist, and followed it up with a 30-point, seven-rebound performance in an 89-70 win over Lamar. He shot 60 percent (9-for-15) from behind the arc while knocking down 18-of-27 from the field.
Hittle has been on a recent hot streak for the Cardinals scoring. He is averaging 21.6 points per game over the last five outings. He is shooting 65.5 percent from the field and has gone 20-of-32 from three-point range during that stretch.
The Cardinals host Stephen F. Austin tonight at 6:05 p.m.
