FRISCO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word senior Josip Smoljan (Citluk, Bosnia and Herzegovina/ Srednja Skola) was chosen as the Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.

Smoljan led the Cardinals to a pair of victories at home against UT Rio Grande Valley, 4-2 and Prairie View A&M, 7-0 over the weekend.  He was a perfect 4-0 on the week with two victories at #1 singles and two wins at #2 doubles.  He is the second UIW player to be the conference player of the week this year joining Joey Vatanadilok (San Antonio/Bridgeway Academy) who won the award two weeks ago.

Incarnate Word will return to play on the road against UT-Arlington on Saturday at 2 p.m. They will continue on to face Oral Roberts on Sunday, with the match beginning at 2 p.m.
