Taylor Johnson (Schertz/Clemens HS) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District VII Softball first team on Friday.
The outfielder had a great season for the Cardinals. She led the team with a .368 batting average, 32 runs, three triples and 15 stolen bases. In addition, she set a new school record with a 15-game hitting streak.
Johnson is a three-time Academic All-District selection and will now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot. She closed out her career with 125 hits, 91 runs and 39 stolen bases in four years. She maintained a .334 batting average throughout her career, the tenth best mark in school history.
