SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian University will be participating in a Blood Drive Challenge this week.
Blood donors at any of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Centers (STBTC) between now and game day (Thursday) will receive a pair of tickets to the UIW versus Abilene Christian women's basketball game at 6 p.m. Anyone who donates at any of the STBTC centers and mentions UIW or UIW basketball will be donating for the replacement credits of Maya Sanders, a 10-year old girl who joined the Cardinals this year as part of the Team Impact program for children dealing with a life-threatening illness.
ACU will also be participating in the blood drive in honor of Maya. The challenge is to see which school can collect the most pints of blood and blood donor registrants.

Tuesday: Northwest Datapoint AdCAP facility (6-8:30 p.m.)
Wednesday: UIW Main Campus (Pre-pharmacy blood drive, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Thursday: UIW McDermott Convocation Center and Barshop Natatorium (8 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
