FRISCO, TEXAS – University of the Incarnate Word junior Jasmine Waring (San Antonio/Randolph HS) was named the Southland Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Waring opened the outdoor season with a fabulous all-around performance at the Islander Open hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend.  She was the runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 24.89 and then ran the third leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team.  In addition to her on the track performance, she also won the high jump with a clearance of 5-5.75.

Waring and the Cardinals are in action this weekend at home in the UIW Quadrangle Meet on Friday and Saturday at Benson Stadium.
