AUSTIN, TEXAS – University of the Incarnate Word senior
Dylan Kelly (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic HS) was named to the 2015 Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Division I Second Team on Tuesday.
Kelly is now a two-time Academic All-American after earning third team honors in 2014. He finished second on the team with 17 points in 2015. He collected five goals and had a team high seven assists. He scored a hat-trick on October 15 against Grand Canyon, which included the game-winning goal. The engineering management major has a 3.86 G.P.A.
Academic All-America® teams are voted upon by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 G.P.A. and have appeared in at least half of their team's games in order to be eligible for the award. Kelly is one of only three Academic All-Americans in the UIW men's soccer program's history and he is the first two-time member. The other UIW Academic All-America® selections were Lubomir Bogdanov (2004, second team) and Yaniv Braver (2005, second team).
