UIW ACCESS TO HOST COMMUNITY YOUNGSTERS

ACCESS
The Tobin Community Center in San Antonio has been downgraded to part-time status but that action is not keeping Incarnate Word's ACCESS participants from continuing their relationship with the Center's youngsters.

In fact, a big day is planned on Saturday (October 10) when UIW's football Cardinals host East Central Oklahoma at Benson Stadium.  Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

ACCESS has a tailgate party set to begin at noon on Saturday and the Tobin youngsters will be there.  Those kids and UIW student-athletes will enjoy food and beverages and will play games together.  All the youngsters will get T-shirts commemorating the day.

Then, the entire group will go into Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium to watch the game together waving their new “Red C” rally towels.  At halftime, several of the kids and some of the UIW athletes will be on field for competition in a punt, pass and kick with the chance to win prizes from the Incarnate Word book store.

On October 1 the Tobin Center was reduced to a part-time facility with no fulltime staff and no regular program activities.  UIW's ACCESS program has been involved with the center over the past year as part of Cardinals athletes reaching into the community, particularly with youth programs.
