Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw joined the University of the Incarnate Word Swimming & Diving team as a graduate assistant in August 2016. After two seasons with the Cardinals he was promoted to the role of assistant coach. 

Shaw joined UIW after serving as a volunteer coach with the University of Texas men's swimming and diving team. At Texas he worked with several Olympians and Olympic coaches. Following graduation, he became a volunteer assistant coach for the Aggies' swimming and diving team. 

The San Antonio native was a three-time All-American swimmer on the men's swimming and diving team at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Shaw was a team captain and holds numerous top marks in the Aggie record books in events such as the 200 yard free, the 1,000 yard free, the 500 yard free, the 1,650 yard free and the 100 yard fly. As a sophomore Shaw helped the team to an eighth-place finish in the 800 free relay at the NCAA Championships. He was a distinguished student-athlete earning the Trey Heye Memorial Award (2014) and was named to the Southeastern Conference academic honor roll. 

Shaw earned a B.S in Sport Management from Texas A&M University in 2015 and graduated with an MBA from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2018.Â
