At Incarnate Word he played tennis for three years during which time he won three national championships, becoming the first and only UIW athlete to win a national title.  In 1994 he was the Rolex men’s doubles national champion, and in 1995 he won the NAIA National Singles Championship and teamed with Javier Ruiz to win the NAIA National Doubles Championship.  He was an NAIA All-American in both 1995 and 1996.  He received his bachelor’s of business administration degree from UIW in the spring of 1997.

Currently the tennis professional at West End Racquet Club in Torrance, Calif., Jonas has continued to win national championships since leaving Incarnate Word.  He has won two national titles including the 2004 men’s USTA 5.0 team title and the 2004 mixed USTA 10.0 team crown.  Also in 2004, he was a Yonex Men’s Open semi-finalist.
