DR. TRIPP PUHL
Class of 2012
A pioneer in the Incarnate Word athletic program, Tripp Puhl arrived on the UIW campus in the fall of 1987 and by his graduation in 1992 had become highly honored in basketball, baseball and golf. As one of the few three-sport athletes in Incarnate Word history, his most significant marks came on the hardwood.
Now more than 20 years later Puhl still holds three school records in basketball and he
continues to be third on the all-time scoring list with his 1,595 points. He is one of only five to reach the 1,500-point plateau. His continuing records are 832 career rebounds and 423 free throws made in 568 attempts. And it was just this past season, 2011-2012, that his career 169 steals were surpassed.
He was recognized at both the conference and district levels for his performances in the classroom before receiving his biology degree. A product of San Antonio's MacArthur High School Puhl graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa and currently operates the CCT Chiropractic Centers of Texas. He has
post-doctoral training in sports injury care and prevention and in nutrition.
